About

I completed a PhD in exercise and nutrition for women with obesity at Deakin University in 2018. I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and have worked in corporate healthcare, workplace injury management, private practice, and hospital-based settings.

I have been a tertiary educator since 2012 and have taught in undergraduate and postgraduate programs for exercise and sports science and clinical exercise physiology at several universities. Since completing my Ph.D., I have developed a substantive research program in exercise and sports science, with a particular focus on strength adaptations across various sports and population groups. I currently lead a research program that explores the factors affecting athlete performance in powerlifting and para powerlifting, along with consulting with World Para Powerlifting (WPPO) on potential rule changes and scoring systems for their sport.

Outside of work, I am an avid sportsperson. In 2020, I finished seventh in the Masters 1 category of QLD Cycling state criterium championships and third in the individual time trial. I am the Captain-Coach of the Ormeau Bulldogs Australian Football Club wheelchair football team, and was Vice-captain for the Gold Coast Suns wheelchair football team in 2024.
